WordCamp Philippines 2010: A Huge Success!

The WordCamp Philippines 2010 is the most anticipated event of the year gathering the best and brightest minds in the blogosphere to share/collaborate information related to WordPress – The World’s Most Loved blogging platform that’s easy to use and is for the masses.

This is my first time and must say a major event I have joined so far in blogging history and without a doubt a staggering 300 and more attendees joined hands, developers, speakers coming from different islands of the Philippines and as well from around the globe.

Prosperity Pose with Matt Mullenweg

WordCamp would be never complete without the Founder himself – Matt Mullenweg gracing the prestigious event.

The scheduled breakouts I’ve joined are very interesting and must say highly technical (not for the weak of heart) as follows:

SEO, Optimizing Ads, and Blog Flipping by Winston Almendras
(Lessons learned: using the right keywords that best reflects your site’s description, proper link-building, seo tools and the like.)

Stats, Hits, Likes: Semantics and Sentiment in WordPress by Marck Ronald Rimorin
(Lessons learned: incorporating WordPress and Google Analytics stats in monitoring traffic, high, peak, lows and average, minimizing bounce rate by lessening outgoing links)

Optimizing WordPress Web server Performance by Eric Malloy
(Lessons learned: applying best practices in server/website’s loading times, load balancing, tools used to speed up processes, virtualization, plugins must have, security issues).

After the breakout sessions, the plenary talk gathered experts on their respective fields we had an interaction – question and answer part with the bloggers on issues about blogging.
