Facebook as we all know how rampant with security breaches these days and apps you may be using may some privacy issues too!

Think of apps accessing your private data without your knowledge and much worse collecting financial information on your bank accounts and credit card while transacting online within the comforts of your home, doing some online shopping with ease and convenience.

These online transactions however secure, has few downsides to add, but beware some of these apps are believed to be harvesting or doing data on idle background data mining operations without your consent and knowledge has dire consequences too!

So better yet safe that sorry!

Facebook on the other hand has been under fire for privacy issues and concerns with regards to its usage.

Here are steps to prevent the social media giant from spying on you:

Step 1:

Go to your Facebook Settings

Facebook Settings

Step 2:

Scroll all the way to the bottom to get to “Your Facebook Information” then click on “Off-Facebook Activity“

Off Facebook Activity

Step 3:

You should be prompt to this page where on the portion that’s highlighted in color blue, you’ll be able to see what the other apps you’ve been using has shared on Facebook (e.g. Tiktok, Netflix and probably including your Banking Apps (YES, BANK TRANSACTIONS!!!).

Then, click where it says “Clear History” and will absolutely give you an option to turn that off. But, DON’T STOP THERE!

Step 4:

The following steps will allow you to stop it COMPLETELY. Go back a little bit, click “More Option“

Step 5:

Then, click gear button “Manage Future Activity“

Step 6:

Under “Manage Future Activity” Click subtab Manage Future Activity.

Step 7:

It should prompt you to a page where you need to turn by default the BLUE ON toggle to OFF.

Default BLUE button turn OFF

Step 8:

Confirm TURN OFF and you should be good. Note: I also found this on Tiktok.

That’s how to keep Facebook’s prying eyes on you from tracking your whereabouts. Of course, to keep it more secure and private I suggest using ExpressVPN – It’s been with me for several months now.

Credits and shoutout!
