Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0 Scratch Test and Review

Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0 fails at scratch test?

The Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0  my newest addition of mobile phone next to Alcatel OneTouch 918N Family. It comes with a triple screen protector upon purchase.

Check out the cool specs:
Jellybean 4.2
1.2 Ghz Quad Core Processor
5″ HD-IPS Capacitive Touch Panel
4 GB ROM, 1 GB Ram
MicroSD Slot supporting 32 Gb
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz/UMTS 2100 Mhz
Wifi b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
3.5 mm Stereo Jack
Micro USB 2.0
12 MP (BSI Sensor) Back Camera
2 MP (BSI Sensor) Front Camera
Dragontrail Glass
P 8,999.00 Pesos

I’m quite surprised of the improvements it has been beefed up to the device, a considerable speed bump equals that of quad core processing power compared to its predecessor dual core only Cherry Mobile Omega HD that some customers were found out to be complaining about few months ago on its second/updated release. All physical specifications remain the same except for processor speed.

The back and front facing camera is a big plus for me, since I like taking photos when I’m on the go, I don’t have to bring my bulky dslr camera often, the HDR mode works great! take note it takes two photos to make sure you can choose which one is better.

Since I’m on postpaid internet, I placed the globe sim inside the vacant sim slot of Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0 and whoa! internet speed is fast, the mobile settings under wireless networks supports enabled 3G, network mode GSM/WCDMA, WCDMA, as you go further in the home key or the phone status you’ll find a H+ symbol that simply means its on the highest possibble speed – HSDPA+ or HSPA network, reaching over 7.xx mbps and above.

Hulking over a huge 2100 mah of battery pack over the back portion of the Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0, power remains to be an issue, if my math is correct, I found out it drains by approximately by 1% on its normal usage, the culprit behind might be the mobile internet, when data connection is activated. But according to easy battery saver android app, with customized settings modes, ie; brightness set to lowest of 1, it estimates battery capacity as follows:

The Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0 dragontrail glass screen did survive scratch test with keys, metal safety pins, except for small rocks rubbed against it.

Hows your Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0?

Disclaimer:
The Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0 I’m having now was recently purchased at Chery Mobile Branch outlet of Gaisano Mall of Davao. This is my second replacement because the first one unit’s camera button was wonky, didn’t performed as stated in the manual  (I’m glad it fell on the 7 day replacement, bring receipts and have it photocopied and report findings to technical area)
