OpenDNS Solution

I’ve received a newsletter today from OpenDNS about the Most Blocked Site of 2010 [pdf format] and back from those years 2006-Present been using their service for quite sometime during my IT Management Days to whitelist and blacklist site/s are deemed inappropriate within our organization.

I know some of you may wonder why you’re experiencing downtime with your ISPs within your area or region because of their unreliable dns service.

OpenDNS acts as a backup url, content and web filter just in case your corporate filtering software does not work. Also, it serves as dns service that helps speed up site loading, fast enough in par with google’s own dns. OpenDNS is free and easy to configure. Sign-up anywhere using your mobile phone and you’re ready to go.

To those who are experiencing outages with their internet that’s crapping out here’s a quick solution to that, it also supports various router brands too.
