Online Global logo design crowdsourcing marketplace, DesignCrowd, today launched the inaugural Philippines Logo Design Awards 2013.

DesignCrowd, now with over 115,000 registered designers, has launched a contest to find the best logo designer in the Philippines:

The competition aims to uncover young and emerging design talent, but will also be open to professional designers. To be part of the contest, designers simply need to select an original logo design from their existing portfolio and upload it to DesignCrowd.

Once the contest closes, a shortlist of designers will be picked, and people will be invited to vote for their favourite via a public poll. The winner will receive PHP30,000 and the DesignCrowd Best Logo Design Award for 2013. The designers awarded second and third place will split the remaining PHP20,000.

Since launching in October 2012, the DesignCrowd.com.ph marketplace has already grown by 70%, with three of the top 15 worldwide designers based in the Philippines.

DesignCrowd’s founder and CEO, Alec Lynch, says DesignCrowd gives students and aspiring designers the opportunity to not only help small businesses, but also work on some of the world’s biggest brands including Microsoft, HTC, and Absolut.

“DesignCrowd is a great way for young designers to build their portfolio and develop their design skills. It’s a great way for Filipino designers to find clients around the world, create work for big brands and earn money.”

We hope the contest will encourage more Filipino designers to work online and we hope it will help DesignCrowd attract more young Filipino designers to our marketplace.”

DesignCrowd is planning to launch the contest in other geographies later this year.

“We are planning to run similar contests in other key geographies but decided to launch in the Philippines first because we see it as an emerging design hub. We’re constantly impressed with the quality of design coming out of this region,” Alec Lynch said.
