2009 Year Ender Recap

Year 2009 was perhaps a fruitful experience filled with high and lows, pain and frustrations, losses and profits, a little of gains, nevertheless it was a starting point for me to do better in the coming months as 2010 approaches. This year 2010 will be lots surprises, hopefully more beans to spill!  I’m not expecting something grandeur to come, or at least expect the unexpected to come.
I would like to share some of the greatest highlights as follows;

Lows (needs some recharging eh!)

• Took me two (2) years to earn my first Adsense payouts, because I was experimenting too much on ad placements of hoping earning more! without learning first the basic! duh!
• Earning slumped rock bottom!
• Did not have to time managing some of the domains I purchased, so I left it parked if not temporarily closed.
• Had some debts, unneccessary spending  because I was a sucker on managing my finances.
• Short of cash, only P20.00 in my wallet, enough for paying my fare.
• Always getting starved, morning breakfast either late, or skipped.
• My bedroom is disorganized.
• Some say I getting fat, needs exercise.
• Lots of food intake.
• Smoking and drinking bad for health.
• Failed relationship, can’t make up with the girl I love, there’s a lot fish in the sea but nothing seems to land on my fishing net.
• Not getting traffic for my sites.
• Need to get contributors to manage some of my potential and promising sites.
• Some of the websites I’m managing was either hacked, and injected by spam links into the index, and not related to our site.  Something’s wrong with the security of the web hosts.
• Need to try some ad networks in increasing blog earnings.
• Delays in the payment of text link placements.
• Need to find clients planning to have websites developed and hosted.
• Net home take pay is low.

Highs (battery seems full! charged ahead!)

• Earned my first Adsense payout around $100.00 dollar
• Got some offers from the biggest ad networks coming from Text Link Ads and Linkworth.
• Adsense is around $31.00 to date.
• Getting payments from text link ad placements.
• Conducted my first ever seminar workshop on video editing.
• Attended photojournalism seminar conducted by Joji Alcantara organized by Avatar Media.
• Attended Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3 (MBS3) In Cagayan de Oro City.
• Developed our school website.
• Listed and a contributor in the first ever Blog Directory of Davao City.
• Got a fan page for my tech blog.
• Got featured on a local newspaper article.
• Purchased domains I think maybe useful in the future, are now online.
• Registered a domain and got a tech blog of mine.
• Invested and got my own domain hosting.
• Less drinking, smoking, I should quit, for health’s sake.
• Got good friends in the blogosphere, online and offline.
• I am now ratified, thanks Andrew.
• Earned Google Pagerank 3.
• Attended and participated in our school Christmas party and performed a dance number (sheesh!)
• Joined the Davao Bloggers Christmas Party!
• Looking for the girl, I know she’s somewhere there! Is that you?
• Got a stable internet connection at home.
• Christmas bonus arrived on my atm. (wee!)
• I’m managing my aunt’s newly painted and renovated big house in Ecoland, Davao City, looking for renters.
• Performing link building and some search engine optimization and ranking well.
• HP Laptop C767TU is performing well and will be two years old this coming May 2010.
