Best Free Online Math Games to Play for Students

By Faust Principe August 24, 2022

If students and kids were my age, could you think of something you would dread on? If some of you might or maybe say? The answer you can possibly get is; tada! – Math!

Free Online Math Games

Based on experience, and to be honest my very first tutor with math back then when I was a kid in primary school year was my mother. As always, Mothers know best what’s good for their kids.

Surely, we had this competition held on the weekends I would lose the multiplication game with my young siblings, and often  I get scolded and reprimanded for not memorizing the multiplication table – it’s worse than watching horror movies, this became my weakness and nightmare in the making.

It became evident while I was going to school, that being said no matter how I tried I flunked math.

Back then, those days were considered or fall under traditional means and ways of teaching math. So old school.

I know math is important, I used to remember my father’s memorable words, he said to me “math is the science” of all things. It did not matter to me until one day I understood the whole process and became relevant to our daily lives.

Over the years, new teaching methods and technologies evolved, and innovative approaches were made possible by making math more lovable, fun and challenging of course, it’s enjoyable too to see when positive interactions between students, kids, and pupils are involved in the whole process and that’s what math games https://www.calculators.org/games/ great comes in.

More importantly, we give kids what’s best for them at a young age.

This is very crucial in the learning process, they tend to learn more, and retain more information about what they learned through games and I believe it will be useful and handy later on when they grow up or live on their own in their chosen field, learning basic numeracy, plus, it helps or enables them to be more creative in solving math problems and the best math games I selection https://www.calculators.org/games/all.php I found is also a sure win!

For the fun part.

Math Boy

The game I played is Math Boy https://www.calculators.org/games/math-boy/. Learn addition, subtraction, multiplication or division by solving equations that fight off monsters. Fun and easy with cute graphics, allowing students to learn one math operator at a time or practice multiple in conjunction.

Math Boy

Once you’re immersed in the game, a player like yourself can choose any mathematical operation of your choice.

For every correct answer, you make, the player defends its position of being taken over –  a hack-and-slash attack comes into action against the one-eyed flying creature/monster.

It’s somewhat more like an RPG game. Then, when the enemy reaches your turf it’s game over! Do your best and win, shout out the best scores and brag and joke it around with your friends – tease and challenge them. The level of difficulty is 2 out of 10.

Easy peasy.

Zombie Typing

I almost jumped off my chair while playing Zombie Typing as I was trying to type as fast as I can, the pressure builds up, without looking at the keyboard, but as the game progress the zombies tend to run at a faster pace, your strategy position and line of defense would be are typing like a mad keyboard warrior, avoiding at all costs – a hoard of zombies coming into your way.

The calculator game is both desktop and mobile device compatible, technically putting things aside, it renders HTML in a format which means it’s both lightweight on Google chrome browser (my preferred choice), there’s no need to install or add, setup apps (I’ve tried so far), try other browsers as well to see if it really works?

Quiz Goose Science

I also like Quiz Goose Science https://www.calculators.org/games/quiz-goose/, not because Science is my favorite subject, but because this one brings back my old memories, but for one reason it somehow triggered my brain memory to sense a hidden and use that stored stock of knowledge I’ve learned all these years.

Fair enough I was able to beat the robot Tobor on the first try, you can feel the adrenaline rush, and it’s really fun.

I’m not comparing it to a monopoly game, but it has some resemblance with that of a roll of dice when taking each turn.

There are some minor issues with some of the game/s when rendered on devices – it shows only half of the screen when played in full-screen dimension, and there’s this black background on both the left and right side of the screen, but overall the game is both playable and enjoyable on the same time and before I forget it’s all free!

We wish to see these games in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Is that possible? Most games nowadays are being deployed on that platform, or perhaps we can have both in the web browser and in-app store installs?

I would absolutely recommend this to friends, teachers, students, and kids of any age.

Bonus: Adults can play too.
