How to apply for Tagum Cooperative Membership Online

By Faust Principe July 4, 2021

If only cooperatives were to replicate Tagum Coop with one click of their mobile app things would be different or at least a game-changer in the local cooperative banking scene!

Tagum Cooperative’s mobile banking features, growth in numbers, and a reach of nine figures over more than five decades years are a force to be reckoned with!

Tagum Coop Core Values

The thing is, I don’t want to lose my hard-earned money with lingering regrets, and later on, point fingers at who’s ever responsible for the loss.

Or some nasty news broke out about fly-by-night cooperatives just declared bankruptcy all of a sudden, on the worst scenario, the top management decides to leave the company by taking all the clients’ money and other monetary value as parting gifts.

At first impression, my defense mechanism kicked in when I heard of Tagum Cooperative, skeptical, but later on, after due diligence and positive feedback and recommendation from a colleague.

I saved enough money, also got support from her who also happens to be a part/member of the said cooperative for quite some time, she shares, keeps on schooling me on all money matters, as all mothers would normally do with their kids – explaining the importance of saving and investing and mentioned the benefits and perks if I joined.

That being said, I’m also a member of the local cooperative in our neighborhood, it’s just several walks away from the residence I’m currently staying in, I applied way back year 2018, this was my first cooperative “MADECO” Mandug Development Cooperative.

This time, I’m applying for Tagum Cooperative, the second time around, and try out the services that they’re offering.

In its humble beginning, it started as Holy Name Society (HNS) of Tagum Parish in May 1967 with only a handful of members and an available share capital of only P80.00.

Over the years as it flourished it grew to become a world-class and credit cooperative providing the necessary environment for the safety and security of the member’s money and giving very attractive interest rates on their deposits and savings through the adoption of a sound, effective and rigid financial management.

By December 2020 of last year, I applied and finally got approved.

Here are the steps to follow just in case you’re interested with hopes of becoming financially independent.

In my case, the online membership application was a preferred choice, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, public and private offices are restricted to few people transacting business onsite.

My associate account was upgraded to a regular account after I joined the pre-membership via live orientation, we ask sensible questions with regards to our account/s of how it is being handled.

The moderator of the pre-membership program suggest to us what to do and how to apply on their financial loan services, and tipped us to deposit our money in Share Capital for better returns at 8-10% per annum, home with a decent internet connection.

Check the payment breakdown:

When I opened an account, I paid a total of PHP 4,600.00 Four Thousand, Six Hundred Pesos as a head start.

  • Membership Fee: PhP 300.00
  • Share Capital: PhP 2,500.00
  • Regular Savings: PhP 525.00
  • Mortuary: PhP 615.00
  • Himsug Pamilya Program: PhP 25.00

The deposits I made earlier were confirmed by the membership and marketing system department, they constantly sent communications thru my email and encourage me to download and register my account in TC Mobile App for account monitoring and progress reports.

The mobile banking app is available in Apple App Store and Google Play Members can perform fund transfers to other banks. The cut-off time is 11 am, payment for loans and insurance, and other improvements.
