Samsung Corby GT-S3653W Review

Samsung Mobile earlier released new line-ups of mobile phone Samsung Corby GT-S3653W Review version touch phone. Honestly, I’ve been a Nokia Mobile Phone user quite awhile – I don’t like shifting to other phones because the user-friendliness would be an issue (imho)


Not until I’ve tried this new phone I bought earlier – I must say it’s all in one phone packed into  a jack-in-box! the menus and UI’s are straight-forward, user-friendly a big plus, slide, drag scrolling touch and feel features somewhat similar  to an Apple Iphone, want  more? it’s affordably priced at Php 7,900.00 at Samsung Outlet – Gmall Davao.

The Samsung Corby GT-S3653W Wifi comes in 3 different fashion jacket colors,  2 Festival Orange and 1 Black covers – you also have to option to choose any colors you want – like white, pink, yellow and black.

It boastly supports EDGE/GPRS Quadband  850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz, equipped with 2.0 mega pixel camera, 2.8″ touch screen, WiFi Certified, Smart Unlock, Bluetooth, Cartoon UI, Micro SD storage slot up 8 gb.

I also tried FM Station Tuning hooked to my Altec Lansing VS2421 Speaker System – plays decently well.

Though the default games like Asphalt4 – Car Racing, Crazy Penguin Catapult,  Diamond Twister, Monopoly and Pyramid Bloxx are in free trial version – you’ll have to purchase or have unlock codes in order to access and play the full features of the game.

  1. I was just looking at this kanina. I tried the non-wifi version though.. more like iphone nga 🙂 smooth scrolling 😀 might get one soon.. pero may phobia na ako sa touchscreens… nahulog kasi dati ko touchscreen phone, basag ang lcd, wala parts dito samin. (doh)

  6. unfortunately you’ll have to buy the game/s they charge it around P50.00 and once you’re done with the transaction they’ll send you the unlock codes..

  7. It’s a very good phone for its price. I hope more brands release phones as good as this in the same price range.

  11. I bought one from SM Santa Rosa, isang stall lang, was selling this at P6980. Wagi. That’s the cheapest I’ve checked that’s brand new. Sa Festival Mall, P7250 lowest. Range nya ngayon is P7300-8400 from what I checked.

    phones have strengths and weakneses kaya affordable sya, kung kailangan mo ng magandang speakers at pictures bilhin mo yung medyo mamahalin.

  23. actually hindi naman sa sabog, dipende rin kasi sa song kung heavy metal talaga ang music mo talagang sabog,at ung sa clarity ng pics pag naka zoom sabog or pixelated.

  38. hi guys.. nag hahanap dn ako ng themes for my 10days old Samsung corby WIFI..hehehehe ala ako makuha sa mobile9 eh..pero ung mga games na gusto nyo ma unlock available xa sa mobile9.. hehehe ganda po ng unit na 2..cheap na cheap pero class..nabasa ko kanina sabog at malabo un pics..in my opinion hindi po ganun..kasi nakakasabay ang sounds nya sa nokia xpres music ko..maganda dn po ang headset na kasama..sa pics sakto lng wala lng kasing flash kaya medyo malabo..my smileshot naman xa..meron na bang nakapag DL ng new themes sa phone na to.. pls mail me @ [email protected]

    pwd din sa net kung may wifi, or bluetooth to bluetooth, pwd din gamitin ang micro-sd memory card then itranfer mo from computer to phone..

  46. hi everyone..i’ve been a corby user for half a year now..let me give you some links wherein you can download for free via wifi (using corby of course)

    games – try http://www.m.getjar.com (it automatically sets your phone so all of the games you’ll find is compatible with it)

    menu wallpapers – try http://www.m.zedge.net (for your main menu background)

    for wallpapers, i download them via pc then transfer it to my memory card ‘coz its easier that way 🙂

    wallpapers (3in1) – in google you can search for 720×400 wallpapers just save the image..you have to resize it on your phone when setting it as wallpaper but don’t you worry about the resolution ‘coz if its a 3in1 720×400 image it would still be as clear & crisp.

  47. hi, was able to buy this phone and had a problem with it. malas lang siguro. but the service center was able to fix the prob. the prob was i can’t play the mp3 either on loud speaker or headset while doing other stuffs like txting. parang pinalitan nila ung mother board something. wala naman ung gastos kasi nakawaranty pa. I suggest that if u buy this fon (or any unit), look for shops that offer a 1 week waranty/replacement. so pag may prob, pued mo maisauli.
    also, my touch screen is quite sensitive. my hands sweat… and when it does, mahirap magtxt because the screen doesnt accept my “finger touch”. matagal ko rin un nadiscover na un pala ang prob. akala ko sa phone mismo. the service center thought sa board ung prob kaya isa un sa reason y pinalitan nila ng board.
    all i can say… this is a good phone. despite of my experience. applications are nice except for the games, u have to buy it. haven’t tried the google maps and the msngr though.

  48. I also experienced the same thing, the touch screen was behaving differently when i press the buttons – it was a factory defect, the good thing it have not reached a 1 week period it was probably 2-3 days of usage until i discovered there was something wrong with it.

    It was replaced immediately in no time. you can turn either game or sounds off when texting, you’ll have to tweak some ways to go thru it.

    kasi, ambilis malowbatt.. it only lasts for about 30 hours or less, pag nagtetext ako, heavy texter kasi ako.. ganun ba talaga? my corby is just 2 wks old., im really worried..

    you can use the wifi features… i have reports from samsung corby users saying that when you use a smartbro, globe tattoo sim etc. it will browse the web…

  68. pumunta ka sa wifi settings ng corby at ilagay itong dns: 208.67.222.222 at 208.67.220.220 flush and refresh.
