Globe Telecom the first to carry latest BlackBerry smartphones in the Philippines

Globe Telecom marks another milestone as it becomes the first Philippine telco to carry the latest BlackBerry® 7 smartphones under its suite of fully-customizable and personalized postpaid plans.

Touted as the most affordable BlackBerry® 7 smartphones, the BlackBerry® Curve™ 9220 and the BlackBerry® Curve™ 9320 are designed to be both easy to use and easy to own. The compact and sleek smartphones offer all the market-leading BlackBerry messaging and social-centric features and apps that people love, allowing subscribers to share life as it happens.

The new BlackBerry® Curve™ smartphones will be available from Globe under its innovative My Super Plan, a portfolio of the most flexible and customizable postpaid plans that allow users to design their postpaid subscription based on their choice of consumable monthly amount, freebies, add-ons, and devices. The BlackBerry Curve 9220 will be available for free with Plan 499 plus a P99 unlimited BlackBerry Chat subscription while the BlackBerry Curve 9320 will come free with My Super Plan BlackBerry Unli Surf Combo Plan 999. Starting May 23, the BlackBerry Curve 9220 will be available nationwide while the BlackBerry Curve 9320 will be available for online pre-orders via www.globe.com.ph/blackberrycurve.

For as low as P598/month, Globe subscribers can get the BlackBerry Curve 9220 complete with a P499 consumable monthly service fee (MSF) for call, text and mobile surfing services, unlimited access to BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), 2 monthly freebies. On the other hand, subscribers can enjoy the BlackBerry Curve 9320 for only P999/month with unlimited surfing, P400 consumable MSF for call and text services, and 1 monthly freebie. Globe subscribers purchasing these latest BlackBerry devices also get free access to an exclusive concert party.

The BlackBerry Curve 9220 and the BlackBerry Curve 9320 feature a new, dedicated BBM™ key, making it incredibly easy to share experiences on BBM. The Facebook® for BlackBerry and Twitter® for BlackBerry apps are included, as well as Social Feeds 2.0, which allows users to post updates to multiple social applications simultaneously and capture updates from news sources (RSS), social apps and instant messaging apps all in one consolidated view. With the long lasting battery in these smartphones, customers can get up to 7 hours of talk time or up to 28 hours1 of FM radio listening or music playback with headphones.

The BlackBerry Curve 9320 comes with additional features including Mobile Hotspot support, which allows customers to share their mobile data connection with up to 5 Wi-Fi®-enabled devices, including laptops and tablets. Its integrated camera includes a flash and supports video recording, and pictures can also be tagged with their location thanks to the smartphone’s built-in GPS.

In addition, customers of the new BlackBerry Curve smartphones can enjoy access to thousands of apps on BlackBerry® App World™ and stay connected on BBM. They can meet new friends, share their favorite moments, or turn their favorite music into social experiences with applications such as Badoo, Beat the Intro, Nobex Radio, PicMix and Shazam.
