Lenovo releases the portable ThinkPad 8 tablet

By Faust Principe March 21, 2015

Business professionals who frequently travel for work consider mobility, portability, and flexibility features as important deciding factors in their gadget choices.

While most tablets address portability and mobility, they are usually not powerful enough to support creating presentation slides and Excel spreadsheets, especially during business trips. A modern business professional needs a compact device with touch screen capabilities to tackle the trials and tribulations of business travel. To ease this, Lenovo has developed the ThinkPad 8, a tablet that offers Think-quality capabilities in a stylish and portable package tailored to meet the needs of business travelers.

“The ThinkPad 8 reflects Lenovo’s commitment to developing innovative and highly-differentiated devices to meet the increasing demands of business travelers. With the ThinkPad 8’s long battery life and performance features, professionals can enjoy powerful content creation capabilities in a small form factor that can easily fit into their shoulder bags, for an instant productivity boost during their business travels,” said Michael Ngan, Country General Manager, Lenovo Philippines.

Compact and extreme portability for hassle-free business travelling
Fully furnished with the Windows operating system, Office Suite, and a fast quad-core processor, the ThinkPad 8 supports multi-tasking, allowing corporate jetsetters to simultaneously work across multiple applications effectively even when in transit. For added accessibility, they can also hook the tablet up with two monitors while in desktop mode and run separate programs on both screens via a USB 3.0 dock or monitor to effortlessly create content.

Moreover, the optional Quickshot cover specially designed for the ThinkPad 8 makes photo-taking a breeze as the 8 MP camera is quickly activated with a swift flick of the innovative corner flap. The cover can also prop the device up to provide better viewing angles for visuals and video calls, allowing business travelers to connect with their colleagues or even communicate with family and friends back home during their off-hours.

Great battery life and multi-mode functionality tailored to the corporate jetsetter’s needs
Today’s busy professionals can enjoy a capable tablet that weighs less than 0.5 kg. The ThinkPad 8’s multi-mode features allow business users to easily shift to and from Tent, Tablet and Desktop modes which adapt to different workspace environments, eliminating the need to pack different devices on business trips.

While the ThinkPad 8 promises mobility, it also has a battery life that lasts up to eight hours on a single battery charge, sparing business professionals from searching for power sockets should their devices die on them during their travels abroad.

The ThinkPad 8 is available at Lenovo Exclusive Stores, SM North EDSA Think Exclusive Store, and Lenovo Corporate Resellers nationwide, at a starting price of Php24,990.
