Social Solver – The Cross-Industry Alliance that revolutionizes development cooperation
After collaborating in 2020, during the development and shipment of the emergency ventilator OxyVita to Latin America, ennomotive and Ayuda en Acción (AeA) are now promoting Social Solver, a new platform for the digitalization of development cooperation projects.
With Social Solver, both organizations aim to apply engineering, open innovation, and digitalization to revolutionize the impact and sustainability of social aid projects in vulnerable communities. Ayuda en Acción and other local NGOs will propose engineering challenges from their projects and the ennomotive network of more than 20,000 engineers will design solutions and participate in onsite tests.
Other local and international organizations, companies, and even governments will have the opportunity to join the Social Solver platform to boost, collaborate, and join forces on the selected projects.
Social Solver incorporates AeA and ennomotive capabilities to help disadvantaged communities: AeA will channel innovation towards real problems on its onsite projects; the ennomotive community will submit engineering solutions related to several SDGs (water, energy, health, environment, etc.) by focusing on creating sustainable value chains in the local industry.
Social solver has launched its first challenge: Fish conservation in the fishing activities of the Mamugah community
This new open innovation platform has published its first challenge to ensure the best quality of the fish until it arrives at the stores, thus transforming the fishing activity that represents the livelihood of over 5,000 families into a sustainable revenue source.
The goal of the challenge is to design a preservation system for the fish that works continuously from the moment the fish is caught to the moment the fish arrives at the processing plant. The implementation plan of the solution will be taken into account. That is the logistics to carry it out on-site, and the subsequent operation and maintenance plan.
Social Solver offers €5,000 for the winner of this challenge, who may either travel to Honduras to give support during the setup of the solution or may donate this amount.
Those interested in participating, must sign up at www.socialsolver.org and submit their solutions before June 13th.
